Widow + HIV/AIDS, Kisumu, Kenya, 2007
This was my first visit to Kenya, and it was a deeply enlightening experience. It was an honor to document the work of a local #ngo, concentrating on the Maragoli community near Kisumu. The foundation worked with orphans, mentally and physically challenged children as well as families ravaged by the HIV/AIDS epidemic. The people photographed were some of the most stoic in my experience, and inspired me to do the best possible on their collective behalf.
